Roscommon Arts Centre recently announced some exciting new events for spring 2012 with more events being confirmed as we go to press.
Highlights for the new season include Tommy Tiernan’s first visit to the arts centre on January 12, followed by a performance by well-known Castlerea native Mary McDonnell in the heart-wrenching play Myra’s Story (Friday January 20 ).
Comedian Conal Gallen will return on Saturday February 25 after a sell-out night of hilarious fun and entertainment in autumn and Roscommon Drama Festival 2012 welcomes performers from all over the country for nine nights of stellar theatre from March 2-10. Local director and film-maker Ronan Carley screens a world premier of his film-documentary Roscommon Revealed which showcases some of the best sights and characters from around the county in a free screening on Friday February 10. Amateur drama lovers will be spoiled for choice with the All-Ireland semi-finals of the Macra na Feirme Drama on Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1. And not forgetting Frankie Gavin and De Dannan who will showcase their extraordinary talents for one night only on Friday April 13.
