Search for children and teenagers to star in new TV series

The search is on to find a young actor aged between 11 and 13 to play the lead role alongside Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids/The IT Crowd ) in a new project.

Casting director Amy Rowan is holding auditions in Galway on Sunday November 27 and subsequently in Sligo and Limerick for this part and other supporting roles. Amy has previously undertaken similar talent searches with great results for films such as Garage with Pat Shortt and most recently Stella Days with Martin Sheen.

Filming will take place on location in Roscommon and Wicklow in January and February 2012.

No acting experience is required.

Boys aged between 11 and 14 and girls aged between 12 and 16 who are interested are asked to contact Holly by email as soon as possible to arrange an audition time by emailing [email protected]. They are also looking for identical twin boys aged between 13 and 15.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Boyle native Chris O’Dowd said, “I’ll be shooting my new sitcom in Ireland early in the new year so I can’t wait to get back home. It’s going really well. It’s going to be a lot of fun. We’re casting at the moment so we’re looking for 12 and 13 year old boys preferably from the west of Ireland and we’re doing castings in Sligo, Limerick, and Galway. We’re essentially looking for people to populate a world based on my life growing up in the west of Ireland. It should be good.”
