Mullingar Arts Centre has announced Alice in Wonderland as this year’s Christmas panto which will run from December 8-22.
Tickets are going on sale from this weekdue to the demand for tickets experienced last year for A Christmas Carol.
“Seldom in the history of shows staged at the Arts Centre has the box office been so busy so early and the best advice is that if you want to see this year’s show then immediate booking is now essential,” said spokesman and co-script writer, Paul Doolin.
“Alice in Wonderland is certainly a match for any of the previous efforts of the panto group and as usual they will add their own inimitable touches that will delight and enthral audiences.”
The cast have been in rehearsal the last couple of months and the fruits of their labour are now beginning to show.
Choreography is by Siobhan Murphy, the musical director Fergus Kearney and the chorus will be under the direction of Niamh O’Shea.
Director Sean Lynch is working with an original script written by himself and Paul Doolin.
“Sean leaves nothing to chance and the cast are beavering away, learning lines and moves but most importantly enjoying the whole process because that at the end of the day is what panto is all about,” said his collaborator, Paul Doolin.
