Something free and feel good at Belvedere this November

Treats and treasures at Belvedere as the annual Food and Design Winter Fair takes place from November 21 to 23

There is something for everyone at this year’s Food and Design Winter Fair to be held in Belvedere House from Friday evening November 21 to Sunday November 23.

Following the huge success of last year’s fair, this years event is sure to bring back those that enjoyed doing some early Christmas shopping at this boutique fair. Recreating the enjoyable shopping experience, visitors can take their time wandering through the fair, selecting work from renowned designers like Helen James, Noel Cleary, and the Celtic Roots Studio.

This year’s selection includes designer jewellery, home and interior products, fashion, handbags, soaps and oils, Christmas giftware, glassware, ceramics, and two highly original toy designers Planet Purple Kids and Bear Essentials. Designers at this year’s fair are required to be registered with the Craft Council of Ireland so visitors can expect a standard normally experienced at shows in the RDS and Kilkenny.

“We are bringing a selection of high quality design work to Mullingar shoppers – so they can enjoy this work without having to leave Mullingar. This year we have over 40 design and food stands so there is something for everyone here – and of course entry to all of Belvedere is free on this weekend so you also get to enjoy the magical surroundings and visit the fair at the same time,” said Hilde Kiernan, exhibitor and one of the show organisers.

The highly successful Food Hall is back again with even more food producers selling the most tempting treats – which you will not be able to resist. As well as food to eat on the day, you can have all your Christmas baking taken care of by ordering your puddings, cakes and pies from some of Ireland’s best bakers. Stock up on jams, chutneys, sauces or munch on cakes, breads, and savoury treats. Create your own hampers for families and friends with gorgeous treats like fudge and chocolates or simply order one of Kellys Organics new hamper range and when you’ve done all that, relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the fair with organic coffee or maybe even a glass of organic wine.

Shoppers on the Friday night of the fair will be shopping in style as they are treated to wine and nibbles, as well as listening to choral music while shopping . They will also receive a 10 per cent discount on all items purchased – all in the stunning setting of Belvedere House and Gardens.

So make sure and come out and enjoy the weekend in Belvedere for free. It’s the ideal time to bring family and friends down and enjoy all the facilities.

The fair commences at 3pm on Friday November 21 and is open until 8pm. The fair continues on Saturday and Sunday November 22 and 23 from 10.30am to 6pm.
