They performed with their uncle Joe for over 20 years and now Adrian and Ray Dolan are carrying on their family’s great showbusiness tradition with their group Karen and The Dolans.
A New Word For Sorry their new single is an original song and was written for Karen by Peter Callander, the multi-award winning songwriter and producer, responsible for such songs as ‘Amarillo’, ‘I Did What I Did For Maria’, ‘Billy Don’t Be A Hero’, ‘Avenues and Alleyways’, ‘Hitchin’ A Ride’, ‘Las Vegas, Goodbye Sam’, ‘Hello Samantha’, and many more household favourites.
“What an honour it is to have a great song written for me by the man who has written hit songs for Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black, and Tony Christie amongst others,” says Karen, “I am so thrilled and excited.”
‘A New Word For Sorry ‘is the new single taken from their debut album, Karen and The Dolans, which goes on release this week.
The album is a collection of 12 tracks, some original songs written by Adrian, who has written the hit songs, Ciara, Endless Magic, and others for his late uncle, Joe Dolan.
Also included on the CD are some fine cover versions, including classics, ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’, ‘You Needed Me’, and the Paul Brady classic ‘Crazy Dreams’.
Karen and The Dolans are constantly touring the country with their five-piece band. Their new CD is released on the independent record label Gable Records, and distributed through Indi Entertainment, and is available to download on itunes from November 14.
