The Austin Friar Hotel, Mullingar’s only boutique style hotel, is celebrating its second anniversary this month and to mark the occasion they are giving one lucky customer a free lunch every Friday for the month of November.
The Austin Friar Hotel first opened its doors in November 2009, and since then it has gone from strength to strength. Proprietors James and Kerry McKeon say, “It has been hard work” but their “positive attitude and dedication” has made the hotel what it is today.
As well as giving away a free lunch every Friday the Austin Friar Hotel has also launched a new daily special lunch offer. “We just want to give something back to our customers and what better way to do that than to offer a great deal like this,” said James. The daily special includes a beautiful home-cooked main course and a soft drink or tea/coffee for only €9.50.
The winner of last week’s free Friday lunch was Paul O’Brien who is the manager at Ladbrokes, Mullingar. Paul said, “I’m delighted, it’s not very often you get a free lunch these days. I love the Austin Friar, it’s so handy for lunch and the food is always great.” To enter the free Friday draw all you have to do is either like the Austin Friar Facebook page or leave your contact details when paying for your lunch.
If all this is not enough, the hotel also has something for the kids. Every Sunday from now until Christmas Santa will be visiting the Austin Friar Hotel for lunch. “It’s a bit of fun for the kids and the parents too; we are encouraging everyone to bring the kids along and enjoy a lovely lunch, while Santa keeps the kids entertained with goodies and competitions,” said Kerry McKeon.
