A Mullingar woman is launching her first, self-illustrated children’s book in Aras an Mhuillin on the Jail Hill this evening (October 28 ) at 6.30pm.
The book is called “Spring Sprong Sally in her Spring Sprong World” and is, according to its author Patricia Gibney: “a little bit of a fairy story”.
Patricia, who is retired and from Chestnut Grove, started writing the book about two years ago “as a kind of therapy” following the death of her husband Aidan.
Patricia will be hosting the launch from 6.30pm to allow people with small children to attend, and will have cupcakes and juice and Spring Sprong Sally colouring on hand for her smaller readers.
“Spring Sprong Sally in her Spring Sprong World” will be available in all good bookshops across the Midlands from Carrick-on-Shannon to Ballinahown, and in all three bookstores - Just Books, Days Bazaar, and Easons - in Mullingar.
