All welcome to Kilbeggan Distillery open day

Oldest licensed distillery celebrates its one millionth visitor

The Kilbeggan Distillery would like to welcome the entire Midlands to a great family day out. To mark its one millionth visitor Kilbeggan Distillery is hosting a day of entertainment and fun on the distillery grounds from noon until 6pm on Saturday September 10.

Visitors on the day will be able to avail of free tours of the 254 year old distillery, partake in whiskey master classes hosted by the distillery’s master blender, and learn how the on-site coopers make the oak barrels that store the whiskey.

In addition, Mullingar favourites The Whiskey River Band will provide live music through out the day and there will be face painting and balloon sculptors for the kids.

There will also be a host of artisan food producers showcasing their wares including - Kilbeggan whiskey truffles, Kilbeggan whiskey marmalade, Kilbeggan farmhouse cheese, and Kilbeggan Irish whiskey fruitcake. And if that wasn’t enough Gourmet Street Pizza will be on hand to serve up authentic wood-fired Italian pizza

A cask of Kilbeggan Irish whiskey will be laid down for the one millionth visitor and after three years when the spirit has matured into fine Irish whiskey, Cooley will bottle the cask for the lucky recipient.
