Roscommon minors well equipped to book place in All-Ireland decider

Roscommon’s hugely talented minor footballers face a difficult hurdle when they take on Tipperary in Croke Park on Sunday (1.30pm ). The prize on offer is a place in this year’s All-Ireland decider against either Galway or Dublin.

Roscommon’s heroic performance in their last outing plus the fact that it is Tipperary they are facing might give the impression that the outcome is a foregone conclusion. That however would be to do an injustice to the Munster champions who have already disposed of Cork, Kerry, and Meath.

Ross Shannon’s young side have certainly the ability to book their place in the decider but will have to play to their full potential if they are to clear this tricky hurdle. Thankfully they are expected to have a full hand to pick from.

A large Roscommon following are sure to make the journey to GAA headquarters to see the precursor to the senior semi-final between Kerry and Mayo. In what promises to be another cracker I expect Roscommon to edge matters but only just.
