Training opportunities at MOHH

Laurie Headd from Ballinasloe recently graduated from MOHH International Hairdressing Academy. During Laurie’s 14 months studying all aspects of hairdressing, Steiner recruitment for cruise ships came to interview students and Laurie, along with four others, secured a nine-month contract working as a stylist on one of their ships. She is currently in Monte Carlo.

Hairdressing is an exciting, glamorous, rewarding, fast moving, and satisfying career, with new trends emerging each season. Once you learn hairdressing skills they are with you forever to use anywhere in the world. It is a demanding career, both physically and mentally, with endless possibilities for specialisation which can take you in many directions.

Success stems from having the right qualities to succeed; these include artistic flair, patience, flexibility, enthusiasm, good communication skills, and determination to succeed. Knowing how to handle clients with tact and understanding is vital.

Continuous training and development are vital. Higher education in specialised fields is now on offer for hairdressers facing advanced product technology, changing fashion trends, and sophisticated consumer demands. Inspiration can be found in the most unlikely places, but an advanced course is a sure-fire way to learning something new to benefit both the hairdresser and the salon.

MOHH International Academy Athlone is currently enrolling for the full-time beginner hairdresser course commencing September 2011. For further information call Sarah at (090 ) 6476263.
