Westmeath photography graduate to display work at Grey Area show

Emma O’Brien, a Griffith College photography graduate from Mullingar, will exhibit a selection of her work at the Grey Area; a photography exhibition running from now until July 31 in Gallery 53, Capel Street, Dublin 1.

The Grey Area show is part of PhotoIreland Festival 2011, and is organised by a photography collective named Arcardia, of which Emma was a founding member.

Emma said, “PhotoIreland Festival is a fantastic opportunity for emerging photographers to show their work and I’m delighted to be part of it.”

Emma’s photography is humantistic in its approach and her portfolio is a collection of her observations of the human experience. Her style is a combination of documentary and fine art.

Sinéad Murphy, head of photography at Griffith College, said, “I am delighted to see these talented photographers showcasing their work and commend them for the formation of the Arcadia group. Their hard work and perseverance has certainly paid off, and I would like to wish them the best of luck with their debut show.”
