Midlands Simon Community is encouraging you to revisit the fantastic decade of music that was the 80s at a summer social barbeque in The Bounty, Athlone, this Saturday July 16, followed by an 80s-themed disco (fancy dress optional ).
Do you remember The A-Team, Atari Space Invaders, Dallas, Dirty Dancing, Dynasty, Neighbours, MacGyver, Pac-Man, Scott and Charlene’s Wedding, and Rubik’s Cubes? More importantly, do you remember those fantastic 10 years of music from the likes of AC/DC, The Bangles, Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Frankie goes to Hollywood, INXS, Michael Jackson, Howard Jones, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Nena, Prince, Soft Cell, The Smiths, and Wham?
If the answer is yes, then you’ll be delighted to know that you are invited to join Midlands Simon for a fantastic night out at their 80s-themed summer barbecue this weekend. You can even bring your partner for a smooch during the slow set (yes, the slow set is back! ).
There will be prizes for the best dressed on the night, so start planning your outfit now. Midlands Simon Community are also accepting suggestions for the playlist for the night through their Facebook page, with a prize for one lucky contributor.
