Local councillor elected to Sinn Féin Ard Comhairle

Athlone town councillor Paul Hogan was elected to the Sinnb Féin’s officer board at the party’s recent North Leinster Cuige AGM.

Cllr Hogan was re-elected as chairperson of the regional committee.

Speaking following his selection Cllr Hogan stated, “I am honoured to be selected to represent Sinn Féin’s North Leinster Cuige at national level politics. I intend to use my time on the Ard Comhairle to influence Sinn Féin policy decisions regarding young people in Ireland. Mass emigration of graduates and high unemployment rates are probably two of the biggest problems faced by young people today. Every political party and society as a whole has a civic responsibility to address these core issues if we are to take this country out of the biggest economic crisis we have ever witnessed. I will do my utmost to ensure that Sinn Féin’s policy development will help deal with these problems as quickly as possible.”
