Westmeath libraries launch eAudiobook

As part of Library Ireland Week 2011, Westmeath County Library Service are pleased to announce the launch of their new eAudiobook Service, Clipper DL.

Clipper DL represents a huge leap forward in the way library users can access unabridged audiobooks. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, borrowers can download unabridged audio books from the comfort of their own home. All that is required is a PC with broadband access and membership of Westmeath County Libraries.

Each title in the Clipper collection has unlimited availability so there are no waiting lists to hear popular titles. The collection offers access to around 500 titles including popular fiction like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, and The Edge by Jeffrey Deaver. In addition, there is also access to a range of non-fiction titles including biographies, lectures from the Modern Scholar series, or self-help titles. Also, check out the range of authors available for children and teenagers such as Herbie Brennan.

Once signed up to the service, members can download up to 10 titles for a three-week period - this is in addition to what you can normally borrow when visiting your local library.

Remember, this service is available from home. You can download and play it on your computer or if you prefer, transfer it to a portable device like the Ipod, Iphone, or Creative Zen.

To find out more, read all about it on www.westmeathcoco.ie/library or contact your local library. Don’t forget that your local library also holds a wide range of material which you can borrow in addition to the Clipper DL titles.
