Tickets now on sale for Seussical

In less than three weeks the people of the Midands will meet the citizens of Whoville and the Jungle of Nool.

The stage is set and is a sight to behold with the colourful candy cane forests of the Jungle of Nool and the topsy-turvy homes of the Whoville residents. Seussical the Musical incorporates elements from 15 of Dr Seuss’ books as well as many of his best loved and familiar characters such as the Grinch, Horton the elephant, and JoJo the mayor’s son to name only a few. In the course of the musical some will fall in love, some will have adventures and some will save the world as they travel everywhere from the Jungle of Nool to McElligott’s pool to Palm Beach.

Dr Seuss believed in the pure power of the imagination. He also believed in the value and dignity of others and working to preserve the fragile sweetness of the natural world a sentimentot to be missed as this message holds particular resonance in these challenging times.

Local talent is in abundance as always in Seussical the Musical. The direction this year is led by the tireless sisterly duo of Petrina Mills and Johanna Daly. The production crew led by producer Ray McDonnell are working their magic nightly on set design, construction, and props along with the support and hard graft of the steering committee consisting of Martina Cassidy, Mary Keany, Mary Whyte, Ger Keena, and Joanne MacDonagh for what MCVG are sure will be their best show to date.

Seussical the Musical runs from Tuesday March 15 to Saturday March 19 with a matinee on Saturday March 19 also. Tickets for Mullingar Charity Variety Group’s sensational musical on the stories of Dr Seuss cost €15 and can be purchased from any one of the 40 plus cast members, Wilfs men’s clothes shop on Castle Street, and Hazy Days children’s boutique on Mount Street.
