Healing programme for individuals and families bereaved by suicide

If you or someone you know have had the experience of losing a loved one to suicide and would like to connect with others who have gone through the same experience a support group is being established in Mullingar.

This support group will offer the opportunity to share experiences and support each other and will follow the steps of the ‘Bereavement Healing Programme’.

The ‘Bereavement Healing Programme’ is designed to meet the needs of individuals, family, and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide.

It will run over eight sessions with the aim of giving those bereaved by suicide an opportunity to learn new ways of working through their grief and an understanding that the feelings being experienced are intense feelings but that they are normal responses to a traumatic life event.

An introduction night regarding the support group will be held in Cathedral Social Services Centre Mullingar on Wednesday February 16 at 7.30pm.

If you would like more information or have any queries, please contact Bernie Carroll, co-ordinator Midlands Living Links on (086 )1600641.
