Are you a local musician looking for a spotlight to show off your talents? If so get yourself down to Corrigan’s, Mullingar where they are offering musicians a chance to wow audiences on a Sunday night.
Corrigan’s welcomes all musical styles, and have a dedicated trad night every second Sunday. “Anyone can come in and play,” explains owner, Ian Corrigan. “We’ve had set dancers and brush dancers, lots of singers, and of course musicians.” Sunday trad sessions start at 7pm and all are welcome to join in, or just enjoy the music. The next Sunday trad night takes place this weekend, Sunday February 13.
“We try to cater for all music tastes,” says Ian “On alternative Sundays we want to see local talent”.
Corrigan’s are looking for musicians and singers from all musical standings to get under the spot light. Whether you’re a singer/songwriter, jazz musician, bluegrass band, sing rock covers, or write your own material, get down to Corrigan’s on alternative Sundays and show audiences your talent.
“We are really trying to bring something different to the Mullingar music scene. I’d love to hear from local artists and bands across the Midlands who want a spot light,” added Ian.
Located on the corner of Harbour Road and Friars Mill Road, Corrigan’s is just a stone’s throw away from Cusak Park and is welcoming all home and away supporters on match day. Corrigan’s is the perfect location to watch the Westmeath home games if you’re not lucky enough to get a ticket, with Cusak Park just around the corner you’re sure to hear the crowd on the stands roar and enjoy the pre and post atmosphere! Along with GAA matches they will also be showing live rugby, soccer, horse racing, and much more. Sports fans should watch out for special offers on match days.
