Death threat charge moves to Circuit Court

A man charged with threatening to kill a woman is to have his case heard in the Circuit Court.

Conor Farrell, 47 Grange Crescent was remanded in custody last week on the charges which have been before the court for some time.

He had previously been granted bail but this was revoked by the court earlier this year.

At the recent sitting of Mullingar District Court, Inspector Fergus Treanor said the 21-year-old can only have charge dealt with as a minor offence in the District Court if he pleads guilty.

The case was adjourned for his solicitor to be furnished with statements by gardai.
