A ‘spec’tacular new look for Santa Clause at Specsavers

Santa Claus made an emergency stop in Specsavers, Golden Island shopping centre this week, as an optical crisis threatened to disrupt his global present delivery schedule.

Mr Claus had unfortunately lost his reading glasses and the jolly man needed a pair of specs to match his red suit, so he could see all the children properly and give them the correct presents from the naughty and nice lists!

The Specsavers team in Athlone were more than happy to assist their VIP visitor, acting as Santa’s helpers for the day. They offered him a complimentary eye test and optical assistant Audrey Quinn also helped him to pick the perfect pair of specs to suit his merry face.

Specsavers store director Keith McCallion said, “Santa Claus was very grateful for his early Christmas gift of a new pair of specs, to help him see more clearly. He will be welcoming the children of Athlone at the Golden Island shopping centre until December 23 and he was very anxious that his eyesight was up to scratch. Santa has also kindly agreed to pop in and say goodbye to us before he heads back north to get ready for Christmas Eve.”

To book an eye test, or to find your perfect pair of seasonal specs, call into Specsavers, Golden Island shopping centre, Athlone, or call (090 ) 6473100.
