Kiltoom Drama Group announce new production

Just in time for Christmas Kiltoom Drama Group are preparing to stamp their mark on the festive season as they finalise rehearsals for their exciting forthcoming production Not Now Darling a tale of extramarital high jinks written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman.

If you are looking for a fun night out, this mad cap, furiously paced farce is sure to beat the recessionary blues, bring some cheer into your life and leave you laughing long after it’s over. With its flirty fun and quickfire wit, the play is wonderfully executed by a strong cast that does not miss a beat. The action takes place in the London fur salon of Bodley, Bodley, and Crouch. Like most farces of this nature the characters live in a world devoid of morality, with a constant stream of lies, accusations, recriminations, and cover-ups, as confusion runs rampant through it all.

This hilarious farce revolves around Gilbert Bodley (Jed Rowlands ) who gleefully flaunts his infidelity while his business partner, Arnold Crouch (Sean Arthur ) is a serious nervous character repeatedly taking the fall for the cad. Bodley is trying to arrange a rendezvous with a would-be lover while Crouch who wants nothing to do with it gets sucked into Bodley’s scheme.

Plenty of surprises are provided by the rest of the cast as they pop in and out of various closets in this fur salon, especially when Bodley’s wife (May Cunningham ) shows up unexpectedly and Janie’s (Laura Townsend ) husband ( Barry Murray ) happens to drop in with the desire of his affection – his secretary (Anne Toohey ). Not Now Darling provides an evening of uproarious fun and runs from November 25 - 28 in Kiltoom Parish Hall at 8pm.
