Shakers and Bouncers return for a charity performance

Presented by the Rail Theatre Co, Shakers and Bouncers return to Mullingar Arts Centre this weekend. The plays will be performed tonight, Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13 at 8pm with proceeds from the Friday night performance going to Irish Friends of Pakistan.

Shakers

Every town has its Skakers, the oh-so trendy cocktail bar where everyone wants to be seen. From check-in girls to the chinless wonders, from the yuppies to the local lads tittering at the thought of a Long Slow Comfortable Screw, we all know the types! Audiences are given a wickedly funny glimpse of this world by the four long-suffering waitresses, offering a fascinating view of the reality that lurks behind the plastic palms and Pina Coladas.

Bouncers

It’s Friday night, it’s disco night - time for Bouncers to come alive! In this outrageous and hilarious parody of the contemporary disco scene, four brutish bouncers portraying over 20 different characters invite us for a night out on the town. Audiences can expect to meet giggly girls, lads on the make, Hooray Henrys, pogo-ing punks, and a smooth talking DJ, all against the tatty, glitzy glamour, flashing lights, and pulsating beat of the disco floor.

Tickets are priced at €17 and €14. For more information contact Mullingar Arts Centre on (044 ) 9347777.
