X Factor fever takes over Mullingar

Mullingar backs X Factor star Niall Horan as bookmakers make One Direction favourites to win

Mullingar has been gripped by X Factor fever as local boyband member Niall Horan is tipped by several leading bookmakers to win the overall competition after two very strong weeks in the live finals.

Support in Niall’s home town of Mullingar has reached fever pitch after Niall and his band came through another week of stiff competition.

Local company Wallace Recycling who are lifelong family friends of the Horan clan have decided to use their local business network to drum up support for the young star. Wallace Recycling has converted all 15 of their recycling trucks into official mobile campaign vehicles and have set up a campaign war room in their head office.

“Mullingar like every other town in Ireland is suffering from the job losses, recession, health cuts, and every other cut going. People are going around town with their heads down feeling sorry for themselves and what better way to lift the mood of the town than to fall in behind a young local lad who is making the headlines around the globe,” said Michael Wallace of Wallace Recycling.

“We have turned our entire fleet of trucks into mobile campaign vehicles, calling on local people to support Niall and his band. Since our Niall Horan trucks hit the road last week our phone lines have been jammed with people looking to know how they can support Niall. As a result we have spoken to Niall’s family and agreed to set up an official fan club which we will be kicking off soon. In addition to the promotional trucks we are going through our database and phoning local people asking them to vote for Niall on Saturday night. Phone campaigning worked for Obama, why can’t it work for Niall Horan?” added Michael.
