Seventy people interviewed over summer riot

Seventy people have been interviewed by Gardai in Mullingar in relation to the Dalton Park riot in July, and a comprehensive file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, according to Inspector Jarlath Folan. Inspector Folan was speaking at a sitting of Mullingar District Court yesterday, Thursday October 16.

Judge John Neilan was told by Inspector Folan that four defendants before the court yesterday, were complying with bail conditions, and they were remanded on continuing bail to Mullingar Court on February 19 2009. Judge Neilan commented that the same bail conditions strictly apply.

Before the court were David McDonagh (26 ), 4 Reask Court, Navan, Co Meath. He is charged with using or engaging in threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace at Dalton Park, on July 29. He is also charged with failing to comply with a direction of Garda Adrian O'Reilly.

Michael McDonagh (24 ), 12 Northern Close, Belcamp Lane, Coolock, Dublin 12, is charged with assaulting David Nevin, failing to comply with a direction of Garda David Mead, and using or engaging in threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace at Mullingar Hospital on July 29.

Patrick McDonagh (70 ), 137 Dalton Park, Mullingar, is charged with using or engaging in threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace at Dalton Park on July 29, and failing to comply with a direction of Garda Brendan Hogan on the same occasion.

John McDonagh (33 ), 185 Dalton Park, Mullingar, is charged with failing to comply with a direction of Garda Adrian O'Reilly and using or engaging in threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace at Dalton Park on July 29.
