Tesco Kinnegad store now officially open

The new Tesco Kinnegad store was officially opened on Monday this week, creating 80 jobs and bringing a great new shopping experience to consumers in the locality.

Local public representatives, along with members of Kinnegad Community Council, Kinnegad Tidy Towns Committee, Heathfield Residents Committee, and Riverside Residents Committee joined Sally Western, the Tesco Kinnegad store manager to cut the ribbon and officially open the new store.

Speaking at the opening, store manager Sally commented, “We are delighted to welcome everyone to our brand new store in Kinnegad which offers consumers great low Tesco prices on a wide choice of groceries and lifestyle products. To celebrate the opening of Tesco Kinnegad, we are happy to sponsor a number of community-based projects with the Tidy Towns Committee, the Riverside Residents Committee, and also provided a new kit for the Coralstown and Kinnegad Ladies GAA Club.”

Tesco Kinnegad will also be one of the first stores to open with a community champion. Sandra Fitzgerald has been appointed as the community champion for Tesco Kinnegad and her role will be to work closely with local community groups, schools, charities, sports groups, and environmental groups in the area on projects such as Green Schools, bag packs, local fundraisers, and WEEE recycling days.

Over the coming weeks many in-store activities are planned including a family fun day on Saturday October 2 from 1pm to 6pm which will include face painting, balloon artists, and much more. Award-winning chef Eugene McSweeney will be in store on Thursday October 7 from 1pm to 8pm providing cookery demonstrations for customer
