A woman who threw a cigarette butt from her car has been fined €300 at a recent sitting of Mullingar District Court.
Community warden Olive Manning Conway gave evidence of how she’d been on her rounds in Mullingar when she saw Margo O’Reilly, 160 Raithín, Ashe Road throw a cigarette butt from her window.
She told the judge that O’Reilly was the driver of the vehicle.
The court heard she had been in touch with the council about making payments on a €150 fine they imposed but she has only paid €20.
Judge Patrick McMahon doubled the original fine and gave O’Reilly two months to pay it.
