Council continues to pursue parking offenders

Westmeath County Council continues to pursue those who flout parking regulations by bringing them before the court.

Martha Dunne of 14 St Brigid’s Terrace was fined €250 for parking in a loading bay at Pearse Street on December 15 2009. PJ Coughlan of 104 College Hill parked in a yellow box at Fairgreen car park on December10 2009 and was ordered to pay €250 in fines.

Parking in a box junction at Fairgreen car park on December 3 2009 earned Gretta Gavin of Carrick a €250 fine. Likewise Karen Goss, of 18 Ashcroft Park, Raharney was fined €100 when she had no parking disc displayed at Fairgreen car park on December 10 2009.

The same fate met Teresa Finn of Killough, Bracklyn, Delvin when she had no disc displayed at Fairgreen on December 11 2009.

When the parking disc displayed by Nora Murtagh of Nora’s Fitness, Millcastle, Castlepollard ran out she was fined €150. Parking in a taxi rank at Railway Row on December 9 2009 cost Keith Gallagher of 13 Carra Grove, Mullingar a similar fine of €250.

Claire Kirby of Cloonagh, Ballinagore had no tax disc displayed when her car was spotted by traffic warden Marion Glennon at Castle Street on December 8 2009. It had been out of date since November 2008 and it was not clear to the court if she had back-taxed it. She was fined €250.

Each person who appeared before the court was also ordered to pay the council’s costs of €150.
