The Special Olympics European Games will take place in Warsaw, Poland from September 18 -24.
Ireland will be represented by a team of 34 athletes who will travel to the games to participate in five different sports: athletics, badminton, bowling, football, and table tennis.
Among the athletes travelling is Ruth Geerah from Mullingar who will compete in badminton.
The 2010 Special Olympics European Summer Games will be the largest event for the Special Olympics movement in Europe/Eurasia in 2010 with 1,600 athletes from 58 countries coming together to compete.
