Mind those valuables when you park

Following a small number of thefts in the Mullingar area, Sergeant John Connolly, Crime Prevention Officer for the Westmeath Division, has issued a timely reminder to motorists to ensure that they do not leave items of value visible in their cars when parked, particularly at public carparks, bus/train stations, and graveyards.

Examples of such items are laptops, handbags, and satnavs, which should be concealed prior to parking. Cars should be locked even if left for only a short period of time.

Further advice can be obtained from Sgt Connolly at Mullingar Garda Station on (044 ) 9384000.
