Rags to fishes - sub aqua club seeks old clothing

The Mullingar Sub Aqua Club is organising a fundraising clothes drive tomorrow, Saturday August 21, and is looking for all the old, clean clothes that the people of Mullingar and surrounding areas can muster.

The club is asking for bed linen and towels, as well as old, worn, and unused clothes. In fact, all textiles, including some bags, belts, and shoes can also be donated.

The members are asking the people of Mullingar to raid the hot press, attic, and spare wardrobes for all the unwanted clutter, bag it in a black bin liner, and either drop it down to the club house in the industrial estate or call the club and have your donation collected.

The clubhouse is beside the band hall, just under the tunnel, but will be signposted on the day and will be open from 9am to 6pm, all day Saturday.

Cathal Quinn paid tribute to the regard with which the club is held amongst the people of Mullingar and its surrounding area.

“The club is fully appreciative of it,” he said. Pick-ups can be organised by phoning (087 ) 3103908.
