It’s not too often you get to enjoy the best of top Irish bands right on your doorstep, but next weekend offers just such a opportunity with the inaugural Mullingar One Night Stand music festival.
The brainchild of Mullingar native Derek Irwin, the line-up for this exciting event brings together some of Ireland’s best live acts to rock Mullingar Equestrian centre, for one night only next Friday July 30.
This summer’s top indoor gig boasts appearances from veteran Dublin-based rockers Republic of Loose and Aslan, as well as festival favourites The Coronas.
There will also be appearances from the best of midland talent, with local acts The Aftermath, Icon on Fire, Ever 27, Sevendays, and Hogan. Adding to the local flavour on the night will be MC for the evening Niamh Crawley of FM 104, a native of Tyrrellspass.
With a capacity of 2,500 and acres of space, Mullingar Equestrian Centre forms the ideal backdrop for the gig. Indeed, if this year’s event proves successful, it is hoped the gig may become an annual event, developing into a fully-fledged weekend music festival in future years.
Tickets for Mullingar’s One Night Stand, priced €38, are available from E2 Music, Castle Street, or from ticketmaster.ie Doors open at 6.30pm, with a full bar til late
