Mullingar hospital suspends surgery

The Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar has suspended all elective surgeries as of yesterday, Thursday July 1.

Surgery in the hospital will be suspended for the next two months, and will return in September. The HSE has said that because of staff holidays, as well as a reduced demand for elective surgery over the summer period, it will have minimal impact on users of the hospital.

The hospital will still deal with all emergency cases while other cases will be dealt with based on clinical priority.
