€5k drugs finds by Mullingar Gardai

Gardai in Mullingar have seized over €5,000 worth of illegal drugs in the past week, following three separate raids on homes in the area.

The most recent was on Wednesday this week, when the search of a private residence at Raithin, Ashe Road, Mullingar yielded a quantity of drugs, believed to be illegal substances from head shops. One male was arrested.

On Saturday afternoon, Gardai seized drugs to the value of €2,500, believed to be amphetamines, following the raid of a private residence at Abbeylands, Mullingar. No arrests were made.

And on Friday in Raharney, €2,600 worth of cannabis plants and ecstasy tablets were uncovered during the search of a private residence, but no arrests were made.

Files on all the cases are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The seizures are part of an ongoing operation by the Mullingar District Drugs Unit into the sale of illegal and controlled drugs.
