A man has been sent forward to the Circuit Court to face a charge of dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm.
Joe McCormack was injured in the incident which occurred at Kilpatrick, Bunbrosna on August 28 2009.
Ambrose Maguire of Joanstown, Rathowen was served with a book of evidence by Garda Deirdre Ann Delaney and will appear before the Circuit Court on July 13 for trial or for sentencing if he signs a plea of guilty in advance of that date.
Mr Louis Kiernan’s request for legal aid was granted when the court heard the young man lives at home and gets occasional work with an agricultural contractor but has no assets and no car of his own.
Junior counsel was also assigned to the defence under the Legal Aid scheme.
