Mullingar Camera Club will open their annual exhibition on Thursday May 20 in The Atrium, Westmeath County Council Buildings, Mount Street, Mullingar. The exhibition will open at 6.30pm and will be officially launched by Des Clinton FIPF, FRPS, FIAP. Des has been taking photographs for over 30 years. Most of his photography has been documenting people, places, and events. Des is currently the Royal Photographic Society Regional Organiser for Ireland and is a member of the Visual Art distinctions panel. He lectures and judges widely in Ireland and the UK.
Photography allows us the opportunity to document the dramatic changes and cultural moments in a series of images of transition that map the shifting ground of our developing culture and infrastructure. All are welcome to attend the event which is supported by both the Mullingar Arts Centre as well as Westmeath County Council. There will be a varied selection of images presented by all of the club’s 30 plus members. Image topics will vary from nature to portraiture to documentary-style images, and will be on display until June 10.
