The new look Glasson Hotel and Golf Club is set to open its doors next month. Set on luxurious grounds overlooking the majestic Lough Ree, the refurbished hotel promises guests panoramic views of the lake and golf course, spacious banqueting and bar areas, as well as top-class food and service.
The €2 million development will see the hotel expand to cater for larger functions, including weddings of up to 300 guests.
According to Gareth Jones, director of sales and golf at Glasson Golf Club, the new look hotel sees the culmination of six months hard work to create new facilities within the grounds of the golf course that will attract not only visitors from across the country and abroad, but will also see it become a popular destination for families in the Midlands looking for quality food and a relaxing atmosphere.
A new two-storey extension has been added to the original building, Killinure House. The development has a glass facade allowing guests commanding views of the golf course and lake shore. The first floor of the new building includes a stylish horseshoe bar while the spacious banqueting hall upstairs has been created to host up to 300 guests comfortably. Gareth believes they have designed the perfect location for brides and grooms to celebrate their wedding day, with breathtaking views, an ideal location for photographs, superb food, top-class service, and a friendly family atmosphere for weddings of all sizes.
“We already have a large number of weddings booked in, starting at the end of May. There are still some dates available for the coming months, including the much sought-after New Year’s Eve, which is always a very popular date for couples looking to create the perfect winter wonderland wedding,” explained Gareth. “We will be hosting a wedding fair in the hotel during the summer, however any couples eager to view the hotel before then are more than welcome to contact us to arrange a booking,” he added.
The €2 million development is one of only a handful of investment projects in the country at the moment, and has brought many construction jobs to the area. The expansion also means that a number of food and beverage related jobs have been created by the hotel.
