A young man has been sent forward for trial for drugs offences.
The book of evidence was served on Ian Harte of 16 Lakeland Drive, Grange in Mullingar, who will appear at the next sitting of the Circuit Court charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply.
The prosecution relates to an incident involving ecstasy on Patrick Street, Mullingar on June 21 2008.
Judge David Anderson refused a request by solicitor Susan Fay to adjourn the sending forward to give her time to consider the evidence against her 21-year-old client, saying that he had no choice but to send the case forward once the book had been served.
The case will come before Judge Kennedy, who is sitting in Tullamore on May 11. No alibi warning was given.
