Celebrity cook-off comes to town

The RLF Restaurant Celebrity Cook-Off line-up was announced at the official Roscommon Lamb Festival 2010 programme launch in Gleeson’s Townhouse and Restaurant, Roscommon Town.

A new addition to this year’s festival – the RLF Restaurant Celebrity Cook-Off - pits the culinary skills of 12 community personalities from around the county against each other. Their battles will take place in six restaurants and hotels from the county including Shane Curran (Hodson Bay Golf Society ) v Tommy Grehan (St Aidan’s ) at the Hodson Bay Hotel, on Monday April 12

Football Club ) Giving a helping hand to all the chefs will be the head chef of each restaurant - guiding chefs to create an exciting lamb dish that diners will vote on to find the winner on the night. That winning celebrity and their restaurant will go through to the next heat with the grand final taking place on Friday April 30 during the Roscommon Lamb Festival on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

All the events in each restaurant will have a fantastic atmosphere with commentary on how the chefs are doing on the night as they cook.

Winners will be announced in next week's edition with dates for the quarter finals and semi finals. So keep your eyes peeled!

This is one of the main food events taking place over the festival weekend, which promises to be the biggest and best yet - with over 30 events taking place in food, farming, heritage, and family fun.
