Minister Barry Andrews was in Mullingar last Friday to perform the official opening of Grovelands Childcare at Market Point.
Grovelands Childcare in Mullingar is one of four award-winning childcare facilities in the Midlands operated by Regina and Ronan Bushell.
Also present at the official opening were Mary O’ Rourke TD, Senator Nicky McFadden, invited guests, and all of the children who attend the award-winning childcare facility at Market Point, along with their parents.
In his address, the Minister spoke of the importance of quality childcare and a stable care environment being available to families today, where so often both parents need to work. In this regard, he congratulated Grovelands Childcare on the standards of excellence in childcare they offer working parents and guardians.
Regina Bushell wished Minister Andrews every success in his office as Minister for Children. She also took the opportunity to point out to the Minister a number of key issues which she and the regulated childcare sector would like to see addressed by his department, namely the issues of sustainability due to duplication of services; staff training and retention; rates; tax breaks for parents, and zero rating for VAT for childcare providers.
Grovelands Childcare is the only private childcare provider in the Midlands to have been awarded the NCNA All Ireland Centre of Excellence award to all of its childcare facilities in Mullingar, Athlone, and Tullamore.
