There have been renewed requests for a path and pedestrian access to be provided at the front of Ardilaun Heights in Mullingar, close to the pedestrian crossing on the C-Link road.
Westmeath County Council has written to the developer of the estate to request the work, after Cllr Ken Glynn called for a pedestrian walkway at the front of the estate, similar to the one at Ardilaun Green, to be provided for residents.
“People have to walk to the main traffic entrance to exit the estate on foot. Ardilaun Green beside them has a walkway, and the sooner this is done for Ardilaun Heights the better,” said Cllr Glynn.
Branding it an “oversight” by the developer, Cllr Glynn said the residents’ association were very keen for the work to be carried out.
“It has been a burning issue for quite a while...this developer has promised a lot in the past. I am fighting on behalf of residents there, and it would be nice to see this provided,” he added.
