Tiger Untamed bands competition started on Friday March 19 in Berty’s Bar at the Annebrook House Hotel and it continues for nine weeks every Friday night (except Good Friday ).
A huge crowd turned out to support the four bands who competed in the first heat, which saw local band Crimson battle it out against three other bands – Neosupervital and The Riptide Movement both from Dublin and Sanzkrit from Monaghan. The winners on the night were The Riptide Movement.
Tiger Untamed is a national bands competition of which there will be five more heats, two semi-finals, and one final. Bands have already entered the competition and been chosen to compete in the six heats. Four bands will battle it out every Friday night to progress to the next round of the competition, including the very best of local band talent.
The competition will be judged by a panel of four well known industry judges, whilst the audience will make up the fifth judge on the night. So all bands will be trying to bring as much support as they can as audience votes could make the difference in a band getting through to the final stages.
This national bands competition is unique to Berty’s Bar, offering a considerable prize fund of over €20,000 to the overall winning band, including €5,000 cash, €6,000 worth of professional music equipment from Music Maker, one day professional photo shoot with Finnimaje, professional video shoot, five days recording in the Nutshed Studios, and 500 CDs of the recording!
The next heat to take place on Friday March 26 will feature two bands from County Louth, RedTwelve and Take the Money and Run; and two bands from Dublin, Preacher’s Son and The Peakin’ Trippers.
Every Friday night promises to offer the very best in talent and live entertainment, so put the dates in your diary and don’t miss the best gig in town for the next number of weeks at Berty’s Bar at the Annebrook House Hotel.
Admission is just €10 to hear four top class original bands, with special drinks promotions each night. Special overnight accommodation rates available for travelling supporters, or locals who just want to make a night of it from just €50pps B&B including entry into the competition!
