The Vero Moda and Jack & Jones stores in Athlone Towncentre have temporarily re-opened their doors as the outcome of talks on their future is awaited.
The outlets closed their doors earlier this month after the company behind the brands, Bestseller Retail (Ireland ) Ltd, announced it was to shut 14 of its 36 stores across the country with the loss of 80 jobs.
Having re-opened on Tuesday morning this week following a period of closure, it is understood Vero Moda and Jack & Jones in Athlone Towncentre will trade for the 100-day period of examinership, with a view to finding a way for them to continue to trade in the long term.
Immediately following their closure earlier this month, talks took place between general manager of Bestseller Retail, Lucy O’Mahony, and Athlone Towncentre’s management company Bannon Commercial.
The Vero Moda outlet in Golden Island shopping centre was one of 22 Bestseller Retail stores which escaped closure and is still trading.
