Comedian Maeve Higgins makes a welcome return to Roscommon this January with her brand new show Blabbing Away.
Maeve loves to blab and is pleased to have lots of new things to blab about to you! It’s hard to think of examples but she will definitely try to present you with an evening of glowing fun, and not bore you, and include at least one catchphrase in each show, eg: ‘What’s good for the goose is good for the gander’.
Her new stand up comedy show Blabbing Away is part fact, part advice, part recipe, part stupidity, and all delivered to you in person!
Since beginning stand up four years ago, Maeve has performed in comedy festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Kilkenny.
In her 2006 debut show, Ha Ha Yum, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Maeve did stand-up while her sister Lilly made cakes. The show went on to a season in Dublin’s prestigious Andrews Lane Theatre, followed by a sold-out stand-up tour around Ireland. In 2008, the show was invited to Melbourne for their comedy festival. In between that, Maeve wrote and performed two more solo shows in 2007 and is set to bring her brand new show Kitten Brides to the Edinburgh festival this year.
In 2009 her own TV show Fancy Vittles, in which she’s again accompanied by sister Lilly, debuted on RTE Two, and just recently aired a Yuletide Christmas Special. Maeve’s also a regular contributor to the Ray D’arcy Show on Today FM.
Maeve Higgins performs live in Roscommon Arts Centre on Wednesday January 13 at 8 pm. For tickets phone (090 ) 6625824 or log on to www.roscommonartscentre.ie
