Mullingar household cleans up for 2010

Christmas came early for one Mullingar household this week as Westmeath's only family-owned local waste and recycling business, Wallace Recycling, announced the winner of their recession-busting competition to give away free bin collections for a whole year.

Eoin Lynch of Pettitswood Manor, Mullingar was the lucky winner of free bin collections for 2010 from Wallace Recycling. The prize is thought to be worth in the region of €300.

The lucky winner Eoin said: “I cannot believe it, I never win anything. I want to thank Wallace Recycling for such a great prize. It will be such a great help in 2010.”

Managing director of Wallace Recycling, Michael Wallace, said: “The competition was just our way of saying thanks and Happy Christmas to our loyal customers and show them how much we appreciate their business.”

But this is not all Wallace Recycling are giving away this festive season. In a bid to help with all the Christmas wrapping, this year Wallace Recycling will take all domestic recyclables free of charge from December 1 to January 31. Just call into the local facility in Mullingar and Wallace Recycling will take them off your hands for free.

On top of that Wallace Recycling has revealed that customers currently using the council service, which is to be axed on December 31, can change to Wallace Recycling for free.

Mr Wallace said: “People do not know that they do not have to return bins themselves or buy new bins if they are changing to a different waste collector.”

Anyone who is having their bins collected by the council and needs to sign up with a new agent should call Wallace Recycling on (044 ) 9347177 if calling from Mullingar, (090 ) 6487007 if calling from Athlone, or simply register at www.wallacerecycling.com

Please note that the yard will be closed on Christmas Eve and re-open on Tuesday, December 29 at 8am.

Wheelie bin collections for December 25, 26 and 28 will all be made on Monday, December 28. Wheelie bin collections for January 1 will be carried out on Monday, January 4.
