Fine and disqualification for drink driving

A Mullingar man has been disqualified from driving for one year after pleading guilty to drink driving.

Nilson da Silva of 16 Grange Village, Mullingar was stopped at 1.30am on August 23 2009 as he was driving up Sherwood Park.

A sample given at Mullingar Garda Station returned a reading of 41mg alcohol/100ml breath.

Mr Robert Marren said his client was supporting a wife and two children and was himself not in receipt of any money from the State although he was unemployed.

He said the reading wasn’t too high and that his client apologised.

Judge John Neilan imposed a fine of €100.
