Major cuts predicted by Chamber Budget Breakfast speaker

Budget 2010 will be launched on December 9. As the Government attempts to make savings of €4bn, it is believed that the cuts which will be made at this year’s budget will be on a scale that has never been seen before in the State.

Mullingar Chamber will be hosting their Budget Breakfast in the Greville Arms Hotel on December 10. The details of the budget will be presented by Cavanagh Isdell & Co accountants based in Mullingar.

Speaking in advance of the event, Paul Isdell, who will be guest speaker on the morning, commented: “Major cuts have been anticipated but radical increases in taxes and levies which were implemented last year are not expected in this year’s budget”.

With the International Monetary Fund stating that “the Irish economy is in the midst of an unprecedented economic correction and matches episodes of the most severe economic distress in post-World War II history,” this will be yet another highly anticipated budget.

The information morning will be for both members and non-members, and will provide details on how these cuts will affect those in business as well as general consumers.
