Mullingar band Ever27 release two singles on same day!

Mullingar-based rock band Ever27 have taken the unusual step of releasing two singles on the same day, October 24. One of the singles is entitled ‘Closer’ and the other is ‘Wake Up’.

Both songs were written by all four members of the band and are the official follow-ups to their debut single ‘The Ground Where You’ll Be Livin’, released earlier this year.

According to Ever27’s frontman, former Mesner vocalist Brendan McEvoy, “The proceeds from both singles are being donated to Temple Street Children’s Hospital, and we’re releasing the two singles at the same time in order to maximise the money we can raise for them. We have a personal attachment to that hospital as our manager Kim O’Callaghan spent time there and really appreciated how well she was looked after.”

Kim’s sister, band bassist Tanya O’Callaghan, explains that the band recorded the two tracks in the Nutshed Studio in Clara with renowned producer Greg Haver (The Manic Street Preachers, The Lost Prophets, Super Furry Animals ) and engineer Clint Murphy. Drummer Eoin ‘Pony’ Fitzsimons says that “the song ‘Closer’ is about falling off the rails and being pulled back on by the rest of the band. You could say it’s a bit autobiographical!”. ‘Wake Up’, explains guitarist Paul Feery, “is about the recession. Its basic message is - get up off your arse and do something instead of just moanin’ about it!”

To coincide with the release of the two singles, Ever27 will play gigs around the country, including their home town Mullingar, climaxing in a support slot to The Blizzards at The Olympia, Dublin on December 12. That gig is already sold out.

To download ’Closer’ text ‘music 3996’ to 57501. To download ‘Wake Up’ text ‘music 3998’ to 57501.The single is also available to download from all good digital download stores.
