Mullingar taxi driver Ciaran Whyte, in association with the Westmeath Friends of Simon, has announced details of a charity concert to be held in the Greville Arms Hotel on Monday September 29 at 8pm.
The concert will launch Ciaran's new 10 track CD, The Umbrella, in aid of the Midlands Simon Community's participation in National Simon Week which runs from Monday September 29 to Sunday October 4. Featured artists at the launch include The Vinny Baker Tennessee Breakdown Band, Chris Loughrey, Danny Slevin, John Donohoe, Finbarr Cody, Just Two (Tommy Lawlor and Pat Whelan ), David Maguire, Laura Mulligan, Sean Coffey, Sean Doran, Billy Mac, Daragh J Glennon, Johnny Hoey, Noel O'Farrell, and The Chancers (Andy Bulger and Willie Cunnane ). The MC for the evening is Midlands 103 PPI award nominated presenter, June Carley. Admission is €10 on the door on the night.
The Umbrella CD features 10 tracks and was recorded over the past two yeas, with the help of Vinny Baker, at Vinny's Vee Bee Studios at The Downs, Mullingar. The CD is priced at €10 and can be purchased in Rochforts, Dominick Street, and will also be available on the launch night or directly from Ciaran himself.
Ciaran Whyte's previous two CDs, Blessed Are The Meek and Try a Little Kindness, have raised a total of €2,452 for the Midland Simon Community to date.
