Teenage traffic collision victim laid to rest

The funeral has taken place of 15-year-old Niall Keenan, who tragically lost his life at the weekend following a road traffic collision in the Killucan area.

The teenager, from Clonreagh, Killucan, was laid to rest at Rathwire Cemetery on Wednesday following a funeral Mass at St Brigid's Church, Raharney. He is mourned by his parents Joe and Frances and brother Liam.

A pupil of St Joseph’s Secondary School, Rochfortbridge, Niall had recently received his Junior Certificate results.

Fifteen-year-old Niall died of his injuries after he was struck by a car at Joristown, Killucan while out cycling last Saturday afternoon, September 12.

He was brought to the intensive care unit at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, where he was pronounced dead the following evening, Sunda
