Whether your talents are carpentry, singing, dancing, or swaying, Ballinsaloe Musical Society is looking for you to get involved in their 2010 production. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is filled with the boisterous fun and romance of the glory days of the movie musical. Bursting with musical energy and high-flying dancing, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a high steppin', hootin', hollerin' good time for audiences of all ages.
Following on from previous successful productions, the society hopes to encourage past members to tread the boards again as well as welcoming any new members. The society would like to welcome its new director Paul Norton to Ballinasloe who will be ably assisted by local musical director Carmel Dooley and choreographer Fiona O’Leary. This exciting new combination is sure to add to the wealth of experience and enthusiasm within the society.
For those who are interested in going on stage, auditions will be held on Wednesday October 21 at 8pm in Gullanes Hotel, Main St, Ballinasloe. The production team will hold pre-audition workshops on the following dates: Monday October 12 with director, Paul Norton and choreographer, Fiona O’Leary; and Wednesday October 14 with musical director, Carmel Dooley. There will also be another workshop on Monday October 19. All workshops will be held in Gullanes Hotel, Main St, Ballinasloe at 8pm.
This is an ideal opportunity to meet and greet all involved in something fun and entertaining. Rehearsals will be held for six weeks pre-Christmas (Mondays and Wednesdays ) and six weeks post-Christmas. It will not be necessary for everyone to attend all of these rehearsals.
