Mullingar girl wins Ms Planet Beach title

The search for Ms Planet Beach Ireland 2010 is over as this week 23-year-old Jan Lindsay from Mullingar beat the other 23 finalists and an overall entry of 200 girls to win the title. Jan, who works in a bar and teaches dance receives a fully paid trip to Reno Nevada this October to compete in the International Finals where the overall winner receives $100,000 in cash, a free Planet Beach Franchise worth $30,000, plus a modelling contract for one year. She also wins a year’s membership to Planet Beach in Tallaght, Dublin and other prizes including a specially commissioned Mullingar Crystal piece.

Finalists lined up in their rock chick wear, swimwear, and evening wear and also had to undergo an interview round at last night’s final in Pure Nightclub at the Burlington Hotel.

Judges for the competition included Jennifer Maguire, who appeared in the UK Apprentice and Failte Towers and now runs Bella Makeover; Killian O’Sullivan aka Lorcan from Fair City; and DJ on Dublin’s FM104, ex-Meath footballer, Bernard Flynn; and former Miss World, Rosanna Davison.

The Ms Planet Beach Ireland competition is an annual spokesmodel search that provides unique opportunities for women aged 18 to 34, exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for personal self-improvement. The 24 finalists were selected from five heats which took place in various nightclubs and venues throughout the summer.
